A cocktail reception was held on February 11 at the residence of Paulo and Maria Carolina Tavares de Melo, to officially launch the first BrazilFoundation Gala in Miami, which will take place on March 27, at the W South Beach Hotel & Residences. Maria Carolina, one of the co-chairs of the Gala, alongside Daniela Fonseca, welcomed Helio Castroneves, Indy Racing driver and chair of the Gala, and Helio Vitor Ramos Filho, the Ambassador and Honorary Chair of the Gala, among others. More than one hundred guests celebrated the initiation of BrazilFoundation in Miami, which is home to a large concentration of Brazilians.

Helio Castroneves has participated in social work throughout his career, but he is especially honored and excited to be heading up the first BrazilFoundation Gala Miami as its Chair. “Philanthropy is not very common among Brazilians. Once I got to know BrazilFoundation, I decided to start helping, and I will do everything possible to cooperate with this social cause and give back to Brazil. It’s very good to help,” he said.

Ambassador Helio Vitor Ramos Filho, who is the honorary chair of the Gala, also highlighted the importance of launching a Gala in Miami, where there is a huge community of Brazilians.

The BrazilFoundation’s CEO Patricia Lobaccaro mentioned that this is a new phase for the Foundation. “The 1st BrazilFoundation Gala Miami is being organized by an extremely engaged committee and it promises to be a turning point in Brazilian philanthropy in the United States.”

BrazilFoundation would like to thank Cachaca Leblon, Eduardo Assola and Vanessa Barbieri for their support.
