A course on the maintenance of hospital equipment, organized by the Instituto Esperançar, enabled community youth to specialize and gain the qualifications necessary to work in the hospital sector, an area which is lacking in specialized labor. In the first six months, 18 students took classes at the National Cancer Institute (Inca), which is also a potential employer.
