Leaders Meet in São Paulo for Capacity Building and ABCR Festival

Forty-four representatives from BrazilFoundation grantee organizations across Brazil came together in São Paulo last week for the annual capacity-building workshops. BrazilFoundation has been holding capacity-building workshops for leaders from grantee organizations every year since 2003. This year the capacity-building workshops took place together with the ABCR Festival in order to provide the best information possible for those looking to improve their fundraising methods in Brazil. Of the 44 participants, 31 came representing the new projects selected to receive support in 2017 through BrazilFoundation, while the other 13 were representatives of past grantees.

The three-day festival offered a series of workshops and debates focused on fundraising for civil society organizations. Aside from the festival, BrazilFoundation conducted a workshop for peer-learning among the leaders, as well as an important informational presentation regarding non-profit status and payment laws in Brazil.
