The largest project fostering engineering in Brazil

Amigos da Poli (translation literally is “Friends of Poli”) is the first and largest endowment fund amongst Brazilian Universities. It was created and is managed by alumni from the most prestigious engineering school in Brazil – Polytechnic School of the University of Sao Paulo (Poli).

Donations are invested in an endowment fund that ensures the perpetuation of the organization’s  resources. Annually, students and professors apply for support for their projects, with the best applications awarded with financial resources. Since its founding in 2012, Amigos da Poli has supported more than 150 projects and directly impacted over 5,000 students in areas such as innovation, leadership, team work, management, entrepreneurship and social responsibility.

Additionally, in 2017 Amigos da Poli created the Career Center (CC) dedicated to helping students learn the building blocks of career management, preparing them not only for their first job after graduation, but for a lifetime of success in their professional life. The CC offers a range of services, such as trainings, summer internships and mentorship programs.

The mission of Amigos da Poli is to develop the full potential of its students, contributing to the excellence of their academic education. But they do more than that: they are also recognized for promoting the “culture of giving back”, something that has been quite uncommon in Brazil until now.
