Headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Instituto da Criança connects individuals and business organizations to social projects, promoting human development and strengthening the Third Sector through private social investment and project management. With a network of over 900 organizations across 24 states and the Federal District, the Institute allocates financial resources, materials, and technical support to causes such as education, housing, and employability.

The Institute actively contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the 2030 Agenda. It is certified with Seal A by Doar Seal, an independent certification that attests to the Institute’s adherence to high standards of professional management and transparency, demonstrating its capacity to manage investments and donations effectively. Additionally, the Institute was honored with the #DestaqueAdemi2022 Award for Social Management.  

Along with its professional certifications, the Institute undergoes annual audits by EY (Ernst & Young), further solidifying its credibility and trustworthiness in managing funds.

Tax Benefits

BrazilFoundation retains exclusive legal responsibility for all donations. The foundation considers donor recommendations after ensuring that grantees qualify for charitable funding under U.S. and Brazilian laws. 

U.S.: BrazilFoundation is a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Tax Code, EIN 13-4131482. Contributions to BrazilFoundation are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. 

Brazil: BrazilFoundation is a nonprofit organization, designated as a Public Interest Civil Society Organization (OSCIP, as per its initials in Portuguese) under Law 9.790/99, Ministry of Justice file no. 08071.000389/2004/01, Corporate Taxpayer Registration No. 04.839.572/0001-10. A donation receipt will be issued for donations made in Brazilian reais upon request.
