Plantando Cidadania
The Instituto Ambiental Cafundó works in environmental education, sustainable management, and environmental conservation in the municipality of Cachoeiro do Itapermirim in Espirito Santo. The organization partnered with schools, public entities, and other institutions to improve the quality of life in the community.
With the support of BrazilFoundation, the “Plantando Cidadania” project trained 9 prisoners of Monte Líbano prison to become gardeners. The goal was to increase the number of seedlings replanted and to prepare the prisoners for this type of work after they complete serving their sentences.
