For over 30 years, working for the rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals in health services, and advocating for human rights for people living with HIV/AIDS, the NGO “Amigos da Vida” has been developing projects to provide professional training for women and LGBTQIA+ individuals in peripheral administrative regions of the Federal District, where there is a concentration of Black population, with a focus on empowerment and gender equality. With support from the BrazilFoundation Gender Equity Fund, the project “Equal Rights for Women” will be implemented to provide professional training for 30 women, including trans and travestis, in the “bartender” field; training for 120 women in the makeup market; 25 lectures on human rights and combating gender violence, reaching an estimated audience of 1,500 people; legal assistance for 150 women, including trans and travestis; HIV/AIDS testing for 200 women, including trans and travestis, among other activities.
