In operation since the 1960s, the Brazilian Nursing Association – DF Section (Aben-DF) focuses on the qualification and professional development of the nursing sector to support the comprehensive health of women served by the Basic Health Units of the Federal District. With the project “Training for the Insertion of IUDs by Nurses,” made possible by the donation from the BrazilFoundation Gender Equity Fund, Aben-DF will advance the training for the qualification of 40 nurses in the insertion of IUDs – intrauterine devices. This initiative reinforces family planning measures already adopted in community groups, contributing to the sexual and reproductive autonomy of 650 women in the outskirts of the Federal District.
