Women from the fishing community of Sítio Jardim realized that tourism has negatively impacted the local ecosystem, their main source of income. The project will mobilize a group of 25 children and adolescents to promote environmental sustainability. The youth will be involved in a clean up and replanting effort along the river banks and trainined and provided with materials to engage and mobilize the community about sustainability issues, thus potentially influencing local environmental policy.
