The stigma surrounding and discrimination against carriers of HIV/AIDS provokes innumerable abuses both directly and indirectly. The Grupo Anti-AIDS de Camaçari was formed to confront the neglect of and human rights violations against carriers of HIV/AIDS and their families in Camaçari. Its mission is to stimulate dialogue in various socialspheres, delineating public policies geared toward the guarantee of well-being, quality of life and defense of human rights.

With BrazilFoundation’s support, the Anti-AIDS Group of Camaçari will ensure the recognition of HIV/AIDS carriers’ human rights, and take action against discrimination in the workplace.
