Casa Onze Fund of BrazilFoundation

International immersive artist residency fostering global creative exchange

Objective

Casa Onze’s mission is to be a “home” for artists: a residency that offers shelter, cultural immersion, and a space for creation and reflection, allowing artists to engage deeply with São Paulo’s cultural fabric and to produce new work in a supportive, intimate environment.

Funds would support the maintenance of the residency, stipends, covering costs of housing, utilities and support for associated programming or cultural exchange.

Our Program

Artist residencies for international artists

Strengthening the cultural scene in São Paulo

Promoting Brazilian culture and intercultural exchange

Through its residency program, Casa Onze aims to foster connection — between artists, the city, and its cultural networks — enabling meaningful artistic production rooted in cross-cultural exchange.

Casa Onze host around 4 artists residencies per year, one artist (or a couple) at a time. It works with partner galleries and institutions in São Paulo, as well as local cultural ambassadors in the city. It serves the cultural scene of São Paulo as a whole.

About Casa Onze

Casa Onze offers a unique artist residency in São Paulo, transforming a domestic space into a creative home where global artists can immerse themselves in Brazilian culture, experiment, reflect and create.

Founded by Lydia De Santis and Frederik Schampers, the name “Onze” refers to “our” in Dutch (the founders’ link), São Paulo’s area code, and also the house number (Travessa Dona Paula 11). The residency house is situated in Higienópolis, Higienópolis, a neighborhood with a strong cultural and educational presence.
