Celebrating the 2000’s Decade, an Instituto Arte de Tear (Art Loom Institute) event will commemorate another decade of this organization’s operations, the organization having been founded in 1980. The event will consist of photos, videos, music, and artistic and cultural activities.
BrazilFoundation has supported the institution since 2006 through Projeto Tear de Histórias (Loom of Stories Project). The project offers Artes Integradas (Integrated Arts) workshops with a focus on literature, reading, writing and storytelling to participants between 6 and 18 years of age, reaching 500 at-risk children and adolescents in the Tijuca region, a neighborhood with serious urban violence problems in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
