With the theme That Night in Rio, BrazilFoundation Australia held its first gala cocktail reception on February 26th. The event commemorated the very first BrazilWeek at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Australia. The gala was followed by the premiere of the film Heleno, which kicked off the Brazil Film Festival 2013.
The event, with support from the Australia-Brazil Chamber of Commerce as well as Griffith University, raised resources for social projects supported by BrazilFoundation. Guests included: Andre Levy, Managing Director of BrazilFoundation Australia; the Ambassador of Brazil to Australia, Rubem Barbosa, who led the opening of the event; Mara Bún, the Gala chair, Green Cross Australia CEO and member of the BrazilFoundation Australia Advisory Board; and Rodrigo de Luca, President of the Australia-Brazil Chamber of Commerce.
