Foundation reinforces its model of long-term investment and institutional strengthening
BrazilFoundation announces the civil society organizations joining its network of grantee partners in 2026. Through this year’s selection, the Foundation is reinforcing its funding model centered on sustained support and organizational capacity building, while focusing its efforts on two strategic areas that are critical to advancing social and environmental justice in Brazil: Environment and Climate Change, and Gender Equity.
Each organization will receive up to R$150,000 over one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year based on the results achieved. In addition to financial support, BrazilFoundation provides technical guidance and comprehensive monitoring, while building relationships grounded in trust and mutual commitment.
Rather than funding isolated projects, this philanthropic model is designed to provide organizations with the predictability and autonomy needed to strengthen their management practices, achieve sustainable results, and expand the reach of their work within and beyond their communities. In doing so, BrazilFoundation contributes to a stronger civil society ecosystem in Brazil.
This year’s selection process was conducted by invitation only. Following a strategic mapping process, organizations recognized for their work and leadership within their communities were invited to submit proposals. Based on criteria including innovation, potential for social and environmental impact, and scalability, finalist organizations received site visits from BrazilFoundation’s Programs team. These visits provided an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of their work and the communities they serve. Following a comprehensive evaluation, the organizations below were selected to receive funding.

BrazilFoundation’s priority funding areas reflect its commitment to addressing urgent and systemic challenges affecting Brazil’s development.
Within the Environment and Climate Change portfolio, BrazilFoundation supports initiatives grounded in a regenerative and equitable economy. These initiatives elevate the leadership of Indigenous peoples, Quilombola and traditional communities, and family farmers. They also promote the restoration of Brazil’s biomes and strengthen the governance, autonomy and resilience of communities and territories.
Within the Gender Equity portfolio, BrazilFoundation supports initiatives that advance the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQIAP+ people. These efforts focus on preventing and addressing violence based on gender and expanding equitable access to sexual and reproductive health care, contributing to a health care system that is more accessible, comprehensive, and inclusive for everyone.
The selected organizations reflect the core principles that guide BrazilFoundation’s work. The Foundation prioritizes initiatives that apply an intersectional approach, advance gender, racial, and generational equity, directly address inequality, and ensure that affected communities play a leading role in designing and implementing solutions to the challenges facing their own territories.
