The PUC-Rio Endowment Fund is an initiative of Alumni PUC-Rio to directly support university students who cannot afford the cost of their degree, helping ensure they can stay in their undergraduate programs. At the same time, it aims to enable academic initiatives that support the institutional development and sustainability of the university.

Alumni PUC-Rio strengthens the bond between PUC-Rio and its alumni community, mobilizing resources, engagement, and leadership to ensure the university’s sustainability and continued development.
Through the PUC-Rio Endowment Fund, it supports two core
purposes:
- Financial aid through scholarships: it finances scholarships to help students stay in their undergraduate programs, enabling them to complete their studies even when they cannot afford the university’s costs;
- Special-Purpose Projects: Investment in academic initiatives, in partnership with companies and foundations, focused on the university’s institutional development and sustainability.
About Alumni PUC-Rio
Founded in 1941, PUC-Rio is recognized as one of Latin America’s leading private universities. The Alumni Association was created to carry on this legacy, connecting more than 200,000 graduates worldwide.
The Endowment Fund pools contributions from alumni and institutional partners who wish to provide permanent support for the university’s academic excellence. Since 2019, the Endowment Fund has raised R$35 million across endowment and projects, contributing to PUC-Rio’s financial sustainability and social mission.

Tax Benefits
BrazilFoundation retains exclusive legal responsibility for all donations. The foundation considers donor recommendations after ensuring that grantees qualify for charitable funding under U.S. and Brazilian laws.
U.S.: BrazilFoundation is a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Tax Code, EIN 13-4131482. Contributions to BrazilFoundation are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Brazil: BrazilFoundation is a nonprofit organization, designated as a Public Interest Civil Society Organization (OSCIP, as per its initials in Portuguese) under Law 9.790/99, Ministry of Justice file no. 08071.000389/2004/01, Corporate Taxpayer Registration No. 04.839.572/0001-10. A donation receipt will be issued for donations made in Brazilian reais upon request.
