Under the auspices of Forbes magazine, the BrazilFoundatrion hosted a breakfast roundtable entitled “Brazil and Global Philanthropy Trends.” The discussion opened with a brief talk by Bradford Smith, President of the Foundation Center, who informed the sixty guests gathered at the Forbes headquarters about the latest trends in philanthropy across the world: he highlighted the importance that Big Data will have in future in both fundraising and grant making activities.
Mr. Smith then moderated a panel discussion with Leona Forman, the Founder of BrazilFoundation, and Felipe Diniz, a prominent Brazilian philanthropist and an honoree at this year’s BrazilFoundation Gala. The three of them debated the differences in the philanthropic practices in the United States and Brazil, and they all offered rich ideas on how to develop a culture of giving in Brazil.
BrazilFoundation would like to thank Forbes magazine for hosting this breakfast gathering.
