BrazilFoundation held a Benefit Auction Cocktail Party on December 6th during Art Basel. The event was held at the Artefacto store in Coral Gables; aside from offering a location for the evening, the premier furnishings brand also sponsored the event.

The evening was hosted by Brian Kelly, founder of The Points Guy, and Donnamarie Baptiste, the director of programming and special projects at The Armory Show in New York. The Host Committee for the event included: Paulo Bacchi, CEO of Artefacto; Maria Leininger and Anna DiStasi, founders of Latin Contemporary | Art Advisors. The New York based Latin Contemporary—a consulting firm specializing in the Latin American art market—curated the pieces for the auction. The auction featured works by up and coming Brazilian artists, such as Carla Caffe, Ana Holck, Estela Sokol, and Pedro Varela. The proceeds from the evening will go to support one more community-led initiative overseen and funded by the BrazilFoundation.

During the event, BrazilFoundation also announced the date for the III Annual Miami Gala: it will be held on March 15, 2014 at the recently inaugurated Pérez Art Museum Miami. Miami City Ballet will be among the honorees, for its effort to bring aspiring dancers from emerging countries to study at the MCB School.
