It has been nearly ten years since BrazilFoundation held its first Gala in New York in 2003. This year’s event will be held on September 19th at the American Museum of Natural History. As we celebrate the tenth installment of the Annual Gala, the foundation will honor the Gala’s founder and chair of its first six editions, Malu Millerman. Gala honorees also include André Brandão, President of HSBC Brasil, for his work with Instituto HSBC Solidariedade, and Manoel de Andrade, founder of Programa de Educação em Células Cooperativas (PRECE), a BrazilFoundation grantee since 2003.
The foundation will also present the “International Philanthropy Award” to Arpad A. Busson, Founder and President of ARK (Absolute Return for Kids), a philanthropic association that finances projects to help children in destitute situations or who are the victims of abuse, in Eastern Europe, South Africa and Great Britain. The 10th Annual Gala will be presented by Alerian, an American consulting company founded by Gabriel Hammond, that provides data and analysis for a variety of clients ranging from investment banks to consultants and investors. Shopping Cidade Jardim will also act as one of the event’s main sponsors.
Luciana Curtis and Luigi Tadini will be the evening’s Masters of Ceremony, and the music will be curated by Michaelangelo L’Acqua. The night’s musical line-up includes a live performance by Bebel Gilberto and DJs Rob Garza from Thievery Corporation, Nikko Gibler and Julio Mario Santo Domingo.
