Objective

The “BrazilFoundation-FAS Fund for Social & Environmental Sustainability in the Amazon” seeks to raise funds and awareness to support grassroots participation in the 2025 UN Climate Conference (COP 30) in Belém, Brazil. The Fund will focus on empowering women from the North and Northeast indigenous, riverside, and quilombo rural communities impacted by climate change, enabling them to engage in climate discussions and advocate for their own rights.

COP 30 will address critical environmental and social issues, with an emphasis on the role of Indigenous, riverside, quilombola, and local communities in climate solutions. The Fund will support advocacy and educational initiatives to ensure these communities are heard in global climate decisions.

Why Support This Fund?

Facilitate the participation of local communities in the 2025 UN Climate Conference

Amplify the voices of women, Indigenous communities, Quilombolas, and riverside communities

Supporting this fund ensures the inclusion of conversations with affected populations. It amplifies the voices of women, Indigenous, quilombola, and riverside communities, who are disproportionately impacted by climate change. By contributing, donors will empower local leaders to participate in COP30, advocating for sustainable development and climate actions that align with their priorities.

Donations will also strengthen community-led climate solutions, promoting inclusive collaboration for the preservation of the Amazon and its people while addressing global climate challenges and fostering knowledge exchange.
