Cocktail Hosted by Sotheby’s in Miami Unites BrazilFoundation Supporters

Sotheby’s held a cocktail event and gallery viewing on April 19th for BrazilFoundation Miami supporters at the Hotel South Beach in Miami. More than 150 Foundation guests received an exclusive preview of the Latin American art auction, which will be held on May 24th in New York, and will feature works of important Brazilian artists such as Candido Portinari, Volpi and Di Cavalcanti.

During the event, Renê Silva -Founder of the community newspaper Voz da Comunidade – discussed his work in Complexo do Alemão, in Rio de Janeiro. With the support of BrazilFoundation, Renê is holding a series of debates in his community called “#FalaJovem” as a means to create dialogue and a space where the residents themselves can identify local problems and possible democratic outlets.
