Lea T, Model and LGBTQ Rights Activist
Lea T is a model and activist for LGBTQ rights, openly discussing her experiences regarding identity and gender in fashion as well as in her personal life. She was the first transgender celebrity to participate in an Olympic opening ceremonies, representing Brazil in the grand march at the Rio 2016 games. She has participated in campaigns for fashion brands including Givenchy, Benetton and Redken, and appeared on the covers of magazines including Vogue Paris, Love, Glamour Italia, Marie Claire and Vogue Brasil. “There was a lot of resistance in the fashion world. When I saw myself in ads for a French brand, I right away thought of all the girls who didn’t have this opportunity. I then promised that I would defend this cause” – noted Lea in a recent interview with Pedro Bial.
Museu do Amanhã, IDG
The Museu do Amanhã, voted the best museum in South and Central America by the Leading Culture Destinations Awards, was inaugurated in Rio de Janeiro in 2015. It created the Trans-Respect program in May 2017 through the Institute of Development and Management (IDG). The program provides professional resources for trans men and women, providing them vocational and educational training plans. The program has already helped five trans professional to be hired, who now work in the Museum’s operations areas. The initiative works in partnership with the Special Coordination of Sexual Diversity and the Secretariats of Culture and Social Assistance and Human Rights in the city Rio de Janeiro.

Two board members of BrazilFoundation, including Ello Agency, collaborated on this important effort. The agency also made waves with its campaign “Todo Bebê é um Bebê Johnson’s”, which communicated a powerful message of inclusion in featuring a baby with Down Syndrome.
