Donations for the Fund will support the maintenance of Fundação Orquestra Sinfônica and its activities in the areas of Culture, Education and Social Responsibility.

Fundação Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira’s mission is to enchant, inspire and impact people through music, promoting artistic excellence, inclusive access to culture while fostering opportunities for musical development in Brazil.
With three pillars of action – Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira (OSB), Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira Jovem and Conexões Musicais program – the organization fosters social inclusion through musical education, providing human development in different territories throughout Brazil.
Fundação Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira is currently responsible for the orchestral corps of the OSB, Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira Jovem and the education and social responsibility program Conexões Musicais. Since 2017, the Musical Connections program has allowed OSB to perform in 11 Brazilian states and more than 30 municipalities with artistic and educational activities.

Created in 1967, Fundação Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira is a private non-profit foundation, eminently philanthropic in nature, whose purpose is to maintain the Symphonic Orchestra – founded in 1940.
Throughout our history we have accumulated a symbolic and cultural capital that establishes Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira as the bearer of an important legacy for national memory: cultural heritage of the state and city of Rio de Janeiro, as well as recognition by various awards such as the Brazilian Music Award, the LIDE Award for Leadership in Culture! and the Abdias do Nascimento Award.

Tax Benefits
USA: Contributions to BrazilFoundation – EIN 13 4131482, a non-profit under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Tax Code – are deductible to the full extent permitted by law. Individuals can deduct up to 50% of their adjusted gross income; companies may deduct up to 10% of taxable income, prior to discounting the philanthropic investment. BrazilFoundation provides a tax-receipt acknowledgement of the contribution it receives.
Brazil: BrazilFoundation is a non-profit organization, designated as a Public Interest Civil Society Organization (OSCIP, as per its initials in Portuguese) under Law 9.790/99, Ministry of Justice file no. 08071.000389/2004/01, Corporate Taxpayer Registration No. 04.839.572/0001-10. A donation receipt can be issued for donations made in reals. The donor must request their receipt directly from BrazilFoundation. Since we are an OSCIP, tax incentives are only awarded to businesses taxed on their profits. These businesses can deduct the cost of donations up to 2% of their operating profit. An individual donor may report the amount donated when filing income tax, but will not receive a tax incentive.
