Institute Protea Fund of BrazilFoundation
Easy access to quality breast cancer treatment for low-income women in Brazil

Objective
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in the world. It is estimated that one in eight women will develop it at some point in their lives. And today, it is the cancer that kills the most women in Brazil. The Protea Fund is aiming to raise funds in the United States to pay for breast cancer diagnostic exams and comprehensive treatments. These funds will go to Instituto Protea with the objective of increasing the number of patients treated and helping reduce the cancer’s death rate in Brazil – which is currently very high at 25%.

About Instituto Protea
Instituto Protea was founded in 2018 with a mission of partially covering the costs of breast cancer treatments (appointments, exams, surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation) for low-income women, which would help shorten treatment waitlists and save lives. Their work is performed in partnership with philanthropic hospitals.
