Programa de Multiplicadores
Fostering Interpersonal Relationships and Respect for Diversity through Art and Play
Carlotas uses arts in public schools to teach and develop socio-emotional skills in children and adults. By doing this, they can teach empathy, tolerance and respect for diversity, while strengthening human connections by encouraging people to build healthy and caring relationships.
Through the “Multipliers Program” (Programa de Multiplicadores), Carlotas will train educators from an organization called Cidade 21 that works in a favela of Cidade Dutra, a city just beyond São Paulo. These professionals will comprise a community of “multipliers” that will disseminate practices that utilize art as a tool for social transformation, aiming to reach a number greater than the average 180 children and adolescents that the organization serves during after-school hours.
With support from BrazilFoundation, Carlotas will:
• Train 60 educators who will act as methodology multipliers – each working with roughly 60 children and adolescents;
• Promote a culture of empathy, coexistence and diversity;
• Influence other educators to use Carlotas’ methods of continuing education.
