Pro Mundo Institute was founded in 1997 to promote gender equality and seek the end of violence against women and children. Headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, the organization has national and international scope. Pro Mundo recognizes the need to qualify the actions of NGOs in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro to improve the quality of the services they provide.
The project supported by BrazilFoundation offered training, technical assistance, and other services to civil society organizations working in the Vila Alianca and Vila Nova Alianca communities. They created a network of 48 social institutions that improve public services and promote community development.
