La Frida Bike
Promoting Autonomy Through The Use Of Bicycles, Within Black Communities
Created by cyclists, La Frida serves as a point of reference in the development of inclusive solutions for those impacted by a lack of adequate public transportation; primarily focused on the unique demands of black women.
La Frida’s mission aims is to teach black women in poverty stricken communities to ride bicycles. The bicycle serves as an economical, sustainable and autonomous means of transport facilitating the empowerment.
This project works to further reduce the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, offering job opportunities through personal mobility and entrepreneurship. The rollout was redirected in response to the pandemic, facilitating most of its communication efforts via Youtube and the radio.
