Creation of a network of Citizen Educator multipliers, training young people as agents of political change

Although Brazil is a formal democracy, the population still makes poor use of its tools to exercise it effectively as so; this is mainly due to the absence of a political participation culture. However, since the public demonstrations of 2013, the Brazilian interest in politics has increased, especially among young people, bringing public affairs to the center of the debate and to the attention of millions of Brazilians.

Created in 2015 with the mission of bringing political education to all, Politize! developed an Educational Platform over 800 items, co-created with a network of more than 100 volunteer writers, specialists in different subjects. This platform has already reached 7 million users in 191 countries with an average of 1 million hits per month.

2018 will be of great importance for Brazil with a new cycle of elections for the most important positions within the Republic. The project aims to form a network of citizen education multipliers throughout Brazil, capable of spreading knowledge related to the electoral process and sensitizing diverse communities about the importance of voting conscientiously.

With support from BrazilFoundation, Politize will propose:

• The creation of content, methodologies, models, and systems to be shared;
• Identification, recruitment and selections of 30 Ambassadors;
• Development Activities for the Ambassadors.
