IPEDI Wins Social Technology Award for Educational Methodologies
Today the Instituto de Pesquisa da Diversidade Intercultural – IPEDI, based in Aquidauana, MS, won a Social Technology Award (Prêmio Tecnologia Social) from Banco do Brasil for their methodologies to promote indigenous terena culture in the classroom. IPEDI creates interdisciplinary, intercultural, bilingual didactic material for children in Terena communities. The organization also trains teachers to teach the material, ensuring that the terena language, cultures and traditions do not die off.
