Aproximando Escola e Comunidade

In 2007, when this Association located in the small community of Lagoa da Boa Vista, in the Municipality of Seabra, received the first part of the BrazilFoundation Incentive Award, they set out to create a cultural program for children and adolescents who did not have access to cultural and leisure activities. The continued support by BrazilFoundation in 2008 helped integrate the relationship between the school and the community, which facilitated the organization’s growth.

The relationship between parents and teachers was strengthened, and capoeira, theater, soccer, and dance groups were created as extracurricular activities. The project improved students’ performance in school and turned the school into a social and cultural space.
