Located in a rural community in Bahia, the Association is a great example of how a very small organization with few resources can achieve solid results with effective monitoring and support. Initially supported by BrazilFoundation with an Incentive Award in 2007 and 2008, the organization has been recognized by the Municipality’s Department of Education, has partnered with the HSBC Bank, and has gained respect throughout the municipality for being the only local organization to focus on children’s education. The Association has also developed theater, dance, capoeira, and soccer for children and young people from the local community.
