With a BrazilFoundation Incentive Award in 2008, the organization carried out environmental education activities that involved the entire community and included garbage collection, pollution containment in particularly affected areas, and the creation of a general atmosphere of cooperation between families, schools, and the community. With the additional support received in 2009, the organization trained the school staff and increased children’s environmental consciousness. In addition, attaining the space for a vegetable garden gave this concept visibility within the state.
