Geração de Emprego e Renda para o Município de Barão de Melgaço

The Associação Ecológica Melgassense operates in the municipality of Barão de Melgaço in Mato Grosso to promote sustainable development by mobilizing civil society and the private sector around the city’s potential as an ecological tourist destination. With the support of BrazilFoundation, the institution trained low-income youth to work as tourist guides, with an emphasis on cultural and environmental tourism. The project contributed to increased income and the development of tourism in the region, but could not be finalized due to local political issues.
