Oléos Vegetais em Campo Alegre

The population of Campo Alegre, a municipality of Crato, is composed of small farmers who daily live with the challenges of the semi-arid environment. The region has an abundance of seeds, however, such as pequi, babaçu, girassol and nim, which contain oils that are valuable in the marketplace. To take better advantage of this situation, the Foundation proposed creating an entity for the sustainable extraction of vegetable oils in Campo Alegre. With BrazilFoundation’s support, the processing plant was equipped and farmers were trained to use it.
