Sistematização do Projeto Semeando Sonhos – Despertando Possibilidades
Supporting the re-entry process for the formerly-incarcerated through dialogue on professional planning and personal healing
Brazil has the third largest prison population in the world. According to INFOPEN (the National Prison Information Survey), the national incarceration rate increased by 157% between 2000 and 2016. The high rates of recidivism are of concern to public authorities and the National Justice Council.
As an alternative transformative intervention in the lives of the formerly-incarcerated, Ação Pela Paz invests in social reintegration and resocialization of the these people as well as those who are currently incarcerated. Through the Semeando Sonhos – Despertando Possibilidades project, Ação Pela Paz contributes to the empowerment and broadening of perspective through critical reflection which enables new perspectives and future plans.
The project aims to develop social technology that can be replicated in various penitentiaries around the country, increasing the scope of training for new project multipliers and helping more people.
With support from BrazilFoundation, Instituto Ação Social Pela Paz aims to:
• Systemize and disseminate the methodology;
• Develop a digital platform in order to make the content viable;
• Expand the project’s reach to a national level;
• Create 100 new project multipliers.
