A BrazilFoundation grantee in 2003, 2005 and 2010, the Institute prepares local youth for the college entrance exam. Over the years, its methodology has been applied in 13 other communities of rural Ceará, and over four hundred students prepared by the Institute have been admitted to Federal University of Ceará.
Many of them have graduated and have returned to their communities to assist other students to prepare for the entrance exams and to help the local community. Through educational and social leadership the Institute is promoting the development of local communities in the region. The Institute has become a national best practice in education with its cooperative learning methodology.
