Paz em casa, Paz no Mundo
The Instituto NOOS was created in 1994 by family therapists who wished to provide the population of Rio de Janeiro with services to promote healthcare and a better quality of life. Since then, the Institute has been developing mediating methodologies for relationship conflicts, especially related to domestic violence.
The project supported by BrazilFoundation trained 20 community leaders from Morro Azul and Santa Marta in Rio de Janeiro to work for the prevention of domestic violence and to support its victims. Besides that, the partnership helped to systematize the methodology, to create new partnerships with civil society organization, and to make the institution a benchmark in the area of domestic violence.
