The region where this organization works is marred by the exploitation of child labor and slavery. In order to change this reality, investments must be made in educational activities and in the rehabilitation of families. The objective of this project, which received the second portion of an Incentive Award from BrazilFoundation in 2009, was to broaden the community’s perspectives on life and family, guaranteeing the right to healthy relationships between children and their parents.
To accomplish this, the project involved the children as protagonists of the learning process, taking into account their social circumstances at the time they became part of the project. Reading workshops designed to educate youth, research and the organization of academic materials were also implemented as part of the project.
