Gritos do Futuro

Human Rights debates brought to discussion the need for reparation for the descendents of the Eldorado dos Carajás massacre. In 2008, with a BrazilFoundation Incentive Award, the institute helped to honor the memory of the massacre, through study, documentation, and recognizing the event as a symbol of Brazil’s agrarian plight. In 2009, with the second installment of the grant, the organization continued its work with landless communities in Pará, by training leaders and educators to promote human rights principles and the teachings of the community’s history.
