Educar para Prevenir a Violência

The institute was founded in 2007, with the objective of consolidating and organizing activities for prisoner populations that were already in place in voluntary form in the penitentiaries of Rio Grande do Norte. The purpose of this project was to give structure to, strengthen, and humanize a social protection net, composed of civic and non-governmental organizations, to prevent criminal recidivism on the part of adolescents.

With an emphasis on education, on the creation of opportunities, and a performance strategy built-in, the project achieved efficiency and effectiveness. Through the technical support of the BrazilFoundation, the organization created partnerships with other institutions that strengthened its actions, and allowed it to expand its work to other locations.
