Escritórios Populares de Mediação de Conflitos e Orientação sobre Direitos
The Juspopuli is an organization created in 2001 in Salvador with the objective to promote citizenship by providing counseling services and mediation to the population and consulting services to public and non-governmental organizations. The organization is recognized nationally and it was indicated by the Human Rights Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic as a reference for other projects in Brazil.
With the support of BrazilFoundation, the project trained neighborhood leaders in conflict mediation, to improve local infrastructure, to expand its operations, to systematize the experience and to expand partnerships. Now there are ten offices in communities in the outskirts of Salvador.
