Agroflorestando na Escola
The Núcleo Amigos da Terra is one of the oldest environmental organizations in the country and it is dedicated to the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development. One of its objectives is to change the culture of food production in rural settings, promoting sustainable agriculture without the use of agro-toxins and other artificial means.
In partnership with the Instituto Educar and with the support of BrazilFoundation, the project offered a technical course in farming with training in agro-ecology, approved by the Ministry of Education. This pioneering program in Brazil qualified 200 youths, many of which are children of rural farmers in the states of Santa Catarina, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul and Goiás.
