Redução de Danos – Uma Questão de Saúde e Cidadania

The Rede Brasiliense de Redução de Danos do Distrito Federal works with drug users in Brazil’s capital city to reduce the effects of substance abuse. The “Redução de Danos” project offered workshops that targeted drug-users living on the streets. The workshops were conducted by community health agents who were previously drug-users in the same position, and who had been educated on topics such as Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Hepatitis C, and racism, and trained on the best methods to approach their target audience.
