BrazilFoundation Mobilizes “Mineiros” at Benefit Dinner in Belo Horizonte

The dinner raised R$325,000 for social projects in Minas Gerais

Last night BrazilFoundation held its II Dinner for Minas Gerais at Museu Inimá de Paula in Belo Horizonte. The dinner raised R$325,000, more than twice the amount of last year’s dinner, resources which will fund social projects in Minas Gerais. With invitations sold out for the past two weeks, the 230 guests – among them businessmen, journalists, artists and influencers – showed great generosity throughout the night, with high bids during the auction and big donations.

Actress Taís Araújo was the master of ceremony for the night, with help from Flávia Alessandra, Ambassador for BrazilFoundation, and actor Klebber Toledo, who introduced the projects currently supported through the Minas Fund. Dream Team do Passinho, having participated in past galas for the Foundation in New York, Rio and Miami, gave a special performance for the “mineiros”.

Sports presenter Fernanda Gentil hosted the live auction – one of the highlights of the night. All 13 items were sold! The autographed soccer jerseys were hot items, and Fernanda turned it into a contest to see which jersey would earn the highest bid. The Atlético jersey was sold twice, the first to Marcelo Patrus – who donated his jersey to then be auctioned again – and then the second to Christiano Jafet. The Cruzeiro jersey went to Cesar Arruda de Castro Ferreira, and the América jersey to Mauro Tunes. Altogether, the jerseys raised R$16,500.

The weekend stay at Hotel Pouso da Torre was sold to sponsor Banco Bonsucesso. FredTour and Marriott International Luxury Brands donated five exclusive travel packages, altogether selling for R$55,000. The Japan package received the highest bid from José Saad Duailibi, committee member; México went to Helena Bruzzi; Eastern Europe experience to José Francisco Gonçalves; the UAE to Raquel Lacerda; and the Incan adventure to Lillian Veloso. Virginia Bartolomeu, the big donor of the night, won the Leopoldo Martins sculpture and the Sérgio Lucena painting.

The “Raquel Mattar” ring, donated by Savine Joias, was won by Adriano Bernardes of Ville Celestine, the hotel sponsor for the event’s performing artists. The Raquel Coelho picture was sold to Helder Mendonça, and Inimá de Paula’s silkscreen replica piece to Paulo Henrique Guimarães, of sponsor Banco Bonsucesso.

Patricia Lobaccaro, BrazilFoundation President and CEO states, “We are very grateful for the support of Museu Inimá de Paula. Mauro and Lilian were very generous hosting us, making it possible for us to hold our first BrazilFoundation event in Belo Horizonte last year. Lilian told us that we can count on her support. We are very grateful to her!“

Denise Magalhães, of Verde que te Quero Verde, worked together with vendors once again to donate the decor for the event. The dinner itself was prepared by Chef Massimo Battaglini of Club do Chef Buffet.  Núcleo Assistencial Gerson Bartollomeo was the presenting sponsor for the event, with Instituto MRV as gold sponsor. The event was also made possible with help from the following sponsors: Banco Bonsucesso, BTG Pactual, Fred Tour, Pottencial Seguradora, Pouso da Torre and Verde que te quero Verde; benefactors Credit Agricole – IndoSuez Wealth Management, Jose Saad Duailibi, LCM Construtora, Lilian Tunes, MG Mármores, Patrus Transporte, Rafael Sportelli, and Sette Câmara, Corrêa e Bastos Advogados Associados; supporters Acontece Cerimonial e Eventos, Audi Center BH, Benedita Comunicação, Chef Massimo Battaglini, Club do Chef Buffet, Commemorare, DJ Carlo Dee, Equipe1 Som e Luz, Fazenda Alegria, Marriott International Luxury Brands, Salão Tif’s, SixStar Vídeo, and Vagalumens Iluminação Cênica..
