II BrazilFoundation Gala Minas Gerais raises R$ 650k for projects in Brazil
BrazilFoundation held its II Gala Minas Gerais last night, June 7th, at Casa Tua in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais, raising R$ 650k for initiatives throughout Brazil. Instituto Gerson Bartolomeo was presenting sponsor, with the Minas Gerais firefighters (Corpo de Bombeiros Militar de Minas Gerais) and Dr. Henrique Moraes Salvador Silva, President of Rede Mater Dei de Saúde, as honorees. Nearly 350 guests attended the event.
Actress and BrazilFoundation Ambassador Flávia Alessandra was the master of ceremonies, stepping in for Isabella Fiorentino who could not attend for external circumstances. Actress Samantha Schmütz, Camila Coutinho and stylist Francisco Costa presented the auction, with Paulo Leite as auctioneer. The gala opened with performances by Grupo de Teatro Soul Assim, BrazilFoundation grantees Instituto Mano Down and Corporação Musical Banda São Sebastião, and Gabriela Pepino. The night ended with music from DJ Valber and Leo Moura, sax.
Lilian and Mauro Tunes Júnior were chairs once again, and for the fourth consecutive year, Denise Magalhães (Verde que te quero verde) designed the decor. Chef Massimo Battaglini (Club do Chef e Osteria Mattiazzi) arranged the menu.

BrazilFoundation created the Minas Fund in 2015 in response to the disaster in the Rio Doce region. BrazilFoundation initially created the Minas Fund to support initiatives in the region, which soon expanded to support initiatives in the entire state.

Instituto Mano Down and História em Construção, both in Belo Horizonte, will receive renewed support.
