Our Program
Transforming the lives of young people from Rio de Janeiro’s favelas
Economic opportunities and community development
According to a survey by the City Government (2023), 51% of young people between 18 and 24 years old living in Rio de Janeiro’s favelas are unemployed. 50% of Brazilian youth without work experience obtain their first job only after 27 months of searching (IPEA, 2014). Without work, young people from favelas cannot invest in their education or meet urgent demands for themselves and their families, such as food and housing, leaving them vulnerable to poverty and violence.
The Jovens Construtores Program offers intensive training for young people from favelas, providing vocational training within the community with ongoing support to increase their education, create economic opportunities, and contribute to community development.

Join CEDAPS and contribute to changing this reality with a focus on youth empowerment, creating economic opportunities, and education to improve the quality of life for young people, their families, and their communities. Changing the reality of one young person positively impacts their family, and thus, one by one, we uplift entire communities!
