Associação Mulheres EIG

The Association EIG – Evangelicals for Gender Equality is one of the civil society institutions supported by the BrazilFoundation Gender Equity Fund. With the project “Journey of Training and Transformation to Confront Violence Against Women, LGBTQIA+ Population, and Human Rights Advocacy: Structural Issues, Theoretical and Practical Frameworks from Religious Spaces,” EIG will produce and disseminate digital materials in various formats (podcasts, audio and video editions, cards, texts, booklets, among others) to enhance the knowledge of individuals in theological, legal, and non-partisan political training as a means of promoting the exercise of full citizenship. EIG aims to reach approximately 5,000 people, including women in the collective and the audience on social media. The organization has been active since 2015, aiming to confront all forms of violence and oppression against women, adolescents, and cis and transgender girls, especially in religious contexts in Brazil. Currently, the collective comprises 130 women across 10 states in Brazil. EIG’s agenda includes the defense of human rights, advocating for a secular state, promoting the confrontation of violence against girls and women, and building equitable spaces in relation to men within the spheres of religious influence.
