Aprendizes e Mídias: Impulso Educativo

Refining the digital skills of youth and adult CEDUC students

CEDUC Virgilio Resi prepares and guides youth through their first work experience as apprentices. The center is located in one of the most economically vulnerable regions of Belo Horizonte, with high high school dropout, violence and drug trafficking rates. In addition, the region’s school network is running at a deficit, with few vocational schools and spaces for leisure and culture –factors that create an environment that can lead to human rights violations.

CEDUC offers youth free, quality professional training to aid in their personal and professional development. To improve access, they developed an online support system for classroom-based teaching offered to 540 students. The project will transform the didactic material into interactive and fun pedagogical content that can be accessed using mobile devices, broadening the communication between teachers and students and optimizing the educators’ time and mentoring capabilities.

With support from BrazilFoundation, the Center aims to:

• Create interactive pedagogical content with dynamic and appealing virtual language;
• Train educators to master the platform;
• Bring educators and students closer together by expanding access to digital content.
