Assentamento Nova Canaã
Founded in 1979, the Josué de Castro Center aims to contribute to strengthening democracy from the perspective of access to human rights through research and social intervention. Nova Canaã Rural Settlement families implemented, with the support of BrazilFoundation, a system of harvesting fish in artificial ponds, a social technology that contributed to better nutrition and income generation in the community, as well as the reuse of rainwater.
