Fundo Agbara

The first fund for Black women in the country, the Agbara Fund, will implement the project “Advance, Black! Empowering Black Women Entrepreneurs Program,” with donations from the Black Entrepreneurship Fund of BrazilFoundation. The funding will be allocated to a group of 100 small businesses owned by Black women, forming the “Prosperous Black” cohort. The acceleration of 20 businesses is scheduled through support for creating a business plan, mentorship, and pitch presentations. The Agbara Fund was established in 2020 through the mobilization of Black women to raise funds and financial donations through community philanthropy in response to food shortages and the disruption of income sources that disproportionately affected the Black population in Brazil due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
