Grupo Ellos
Founded in 2011, Grupo Ellos works to confront gender-based violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation while promoting autonomy and citizenship for the LGBTQIA+ population in Nova Iguaçu, Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro. With a donation from the BrazilFoundation Gender Equity Fund, the project “Trans(Iguaçu) – Health and Rights Assurance” will be developed to democratize access to information about sexual and reproductive health, diseases of the reproductive system, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and health specific to the LGBTQIA+ population. The project will be implemented in the more distant neighborhoods of the municipality, where access to hospitals and basic health services is more challenging, directly impacting approximately 300 people.
